Pastor Ken Kalisz

PK and Denise

Pastor Ken Kalisz is originally from Buffalo,  NY – which explains why he still cheers for the Bills and Sabres.  After High School, he joined the Army where he spent eleven years in the medical corps.  While in the Army, he met Denise (originally from Chicago, IL) who also served in the medical corps and still works in healthcare today.  They were married in Maryland and after both completed their military service, they moved to Pennsylvania.

Ken completed his degree in Healthcare Administration at the University of Maryland University College and began a civilian career.  It was during this time that God began to work in his life and he found many opportunities to serve in the church.

In 2002, Ken felt the call to full time ministry and began serving as the Youth Director in the church he was attending.  The problem was he was older than most youth leaders and couldn’t play guitar – two qualities often sought by churches looking for a Youth Director.  Still, he was hired and enrolled in Evangelical Theological Seminary.

In 2003, Ken received his Licentiate status from the Evangelical Congregational Church. He graduated in 2009 with a Master of Divinity – magna cum laude – and he also received the Allen and Marie Bodey Award in Expository Preaching. In 2008, Ken was assigned to Hope Community Church where he and Denise joyfully serve.
