Chris and Deb met when Deb came to Papua, New Guinea in 2006 to teach at Wycliffe’s mission school. They were married in 2009 and continued serving in Papua, New Guinea until July 2012. They were delighted to welcome their daughter Katelyn in August 2012 and are currently serving at Moody Bible Institute, Spokane, WA. One of the highlights of the year for Bill was his trip to South Africa.  He went to offer training in church planting to our leaders in Africa who work among Muslims.  Bill was honored to work with such an accomplished group of missionaries and help them consider how to multiply their already fruitful ministries.  Of course, some adjustment to the normal course was in order.  Instead of talking for an half an hour on healing prayer in evangelism, Bill just decided to have the guy who had recently raised two guys from the dead offer his thoughts on praying for the sick.  A side benefit of his trip was building relationships with this great group and exploring ways that their teams can come and join us in the Middle East in long term ministry.

About six months ago, I became the primary photographer for all still photography tasks placed at Orlando headquarters.  Within just the past month, our video production staff has decreased by one third.  This means that I am now one of two people producing Wycliffe videos here at Wycliffe USA headquarters. I am also now part of the team that facilitates live streaming over the internet of our weekly campus-wide devotional time and other special events.  We’ve been doing this for two months now in the hope of keeping remote staff and Wycliffe missionaries world-wide more connected to the overall life of our organization.  It seems to be working.  On any given week, we’ve had people connecting to the live stream from places all over the US, and countries like Nigeria and even Papua, New Guinea. With these added responsibilities also comes added opportunities’ and influences in some of the strategic decisions being made in the area of media and marketing.  I tell you all this because I want you to know what you’re a part of every time you pray for us or give financially so that we can continue to serve Wycliffe Bible Translators.  We greatly appreciate all your support and so does Wycliffe.  You can pray along with us that God brings us a few more qualified media specialists to minister as Wycliffe missionaries so we can increase our production capacity without increasing our organization’s budget.
